Version 2.0 — Effective Date: February 15, 2026
Podium does not collect, store, or share any personal information from users. All processing occurs within the user's web browser, and no data, other than the contents of PDF documents for cloud-based storage, is transferred to external servers.
Podium's main menu settings, together with metadata about the most recently opened PDF documents, is stored in your web browser's local storage. Podium shares paste buffer data with other instances of Podium running in the same browser. This data can be reset to its initial, default value by clicking the corresponding factory reset button in the Storage panel of Podium's App menu.
Podium's practice tools include a real-time pitch detection tuner and an audio/video recorder. The tuner accesses your microphone to detect the pitch of notes you play; the recorder requires both your microphone and camera to capture practice recordings. These features are activated only by explicit user action. All audio and video processing occurs entirely within your browser — no audio, video, or pitch data is recorded, stored, or transmitted externally.
Podium uses third-party services for cloud storage of PDF documents. Their privacy policies and terms of service are available through links on their login panels.
The Podium browser extension allows you to open PDF links directly in Podium via the right-click context menu, or to import a PDF displayed in your current browser tab. The extension does not collect or transmit any data.
The extension requires host permissions for IMSLP domains (imslp.org, petruccimusiclibrary.ca, imslp.eu, imslp.tw) so it can resolve IMSLP download links directly to PDF files. No data from these sites is collected or stored.
When you use the "Open in Podium" button in the popup to import a PDF from another website, the browser will ask you to grant URL access permission so the extension can fetch the PDF on your behalf. This permission is granted once and retained. PDF files are fetched directly from their source and processed entirely within your browser.
Cloud storage authentication within the extension uses Chrome's built-in identity system. Authentication tokens are managed by the browser and are not accessible to Podium's code. As with the main application, scores opened through the extension can be read from and saved to your local file system, to the extent permitted by the browser.
The developer of this application is not responsible for the privacy practices of any third-party services used by the application.
